About Tuff Darts!
Tuff Jeff Salen Legendary guitarist extraordinaire, vocalist and songwriter…Jeff was present at the earliest inception of the ‘new wave’ scene in NYC as a member of JAYNE COUNTY AND THE BACKSTREET BOYS (with MARKY RAMONE) and BUTCH (with TOMMY RAMONE and MONTE MELNICK). A founding member of TUFF DARTS!, he penned the classic anthem “All For The Love Of Rock ‘N’ Roll.” Active in many studio sessions, he was featured on many projects such as SPARKS “Big Beat” album and ROBERT GORDON’S “All For the Love of Rock ‘n’ Roll” album, and is still making the scene. A self proclaimed mega-fan of “The Godfather,” he claims to have read it no less than 731 times. Tuff Tommy Frenzy Talented vocalist and guitarist, has been a staple of the NYC and Westchester rock scene, playing in a number of bands, including BIG SPENDER, and has contributed songs to movies such as the Columbia Picture film, “Spring Break.” Tommy originally joined the band to record the classic “TUFF DARTS!” album and toured nationally with the band, and has continued actively both live and on the net with a number of solo projects. Tommy spends all of his spare time and energy trying to prove to the world that there really were two Darrens on Bewitched. Tuff Jim Morrison “Who Invented the Name Tuff Darts” – Jim provides the muscle of the band from behind the drums. He has backed a number of musicians including RICHARD HELL and has played with several recording acts such as LAW&ORDER and THE 2 TIMERS. Most recently he has added his talents to the NJ band, BABY DROWSY. Often quiet and understated, he has been credited with the destruction of more drum equipment than Keith Moon and is currently working on a patent for indestructible drumsticks. Tuff John De Salvo “The Heart of The Darts” – John provides the “wall of bass” and is the glue that holds it all together. He has returned to music for this reunion after a long stint writing pornography, his attitude being “it’s all perverted to me.” John is currently hard at work on his first children’s book…”Billy Has Two Mommies That Play Bass.” And… Jeff would also like to acknowledge original Darts “B.B.” Bobby Butani, innovative guitarist and songwriting partner on “All For The Love of Rock ‘n’ Roll” and “Rats,” the Blank Generation’s anthem. Also, the great Robert “R.G.” Gordon, vocalist on “Live At CBGB’s” and “All For The Love of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” And Johnny “Bullet” Morelli (drummer with Cyndi Lauper).
